Sting filled the BT Arena in Cluj-Napoca on Friday, at the "My Songs" concert...
Sting is one of the most important artists of our time and, for sure, we automatically hum one of his songs in our minds every time we hear his name. Personally, I can't get "Shape Of My Heart", one of my favourite songs, out of my head.
Sting gave an unforgettable concert in Cluj on Friday, September 30, as part of the "My Songs" tour. The concert was supposed to take place this spring, but was postponed due to the pandemic. The special guest of this tour is his son, Joe Sumner. Together they performed alongside an electric rock ensemble consisting of Dominic Miller (guitar), Josh Freese (drums), Rufus Miller (guitar), Kevon Webster (keyboards), Shane Sager (bass) with Melissa Musique and Gene Noble (backing vocals).
The tour focuses on Sting's most beloved and important songs, composed throughout the 17-time Grammy winner's distinguished career, both from his time with The Police and his solo career. Fans were able to travel back in time, listening to hits such as "Message In A Bottle", "Every Breath You Take", "Roxanne", "Englishman In New York" and "Fields of Gold".
"The Bridge", Sting's latest album, is a demonstration of his prolific and versatile songwriting ability. This new collection reflects on personal loss, separation and extreme social and political unrest. It was written and recorded during a year of widespread unrest.
At 71 years old, the artist is in excellent shape. He still manages to fill and move entire stadiums and put on incredible shows. Today he celebrates his birthday, and Rock FM wishes him a warm "Happy Birthday!".
